Air passengers at Bristol Airport were forced to wait almost two hours to collect their luggage.
It comes amid an unusually busy month for the airport, with a number of occasions where travelers have been forced to queue outside the building just to check in.
Several social media posts indicate that people had to wait an hour or more to remove their suitcases from the carousel this morning around 2am. (May 15, 2022).

@where_my_divsFI wrote: “absolute shambles, both ways. On the way out, security took an hour to clear. On the way back (now) we landed over an hour ago, and still no sign of baggage from anyone… Blaming staff shortages really isn’t good enough.
@RustyF said: “Baggage calamity at @BristolAirport. Three flights waiting for baggage to appear on same belt. @jet2tweets are here to support but @easyJet is noticeably absent. Thank goodness not here with kids.”
Bristol Live also received an email from a woman who said she had to wait three hours for her bags with children. She said: “Tui customers wait over three hours for their luggage. Jet2 customers wait over two and a half hours for their luggage. EasyJet customers wait over 40 minutes.”
A Bristol Airport spokesman said: “BBaggage delays were experienced last night on some flights arriving at Bristol Airport in the early hours of Sunday May 15. Bristol Airport apologizes and appreciates the frustration felt by customers due to the delay in the arrival of their baggage. An internal investigation of the airline’s support agents will be completed.
