Warning to all road users traveling on the M62

Merseyside Police have issued an urgent warning to all road users traveling on the M62.

The force was called out for a number of incidents on the M62 near the Rocket on Thursday 3 February.

Officers were forced to close the inside lane of the causeway around 3:30 p.m. after a broken storm drain blew out several vehicle tires.

The council has since taken over the closure of the lane and repairs are underway.

Merseyside Police are now warning road users to be extra careful when using the motorway.

A spokesperson said: “Patrols have implemented a lane closure on the M62 eastbound from the Rocket due to a broken storm sewer cover which had punctured several vehicle tyres.

“We are awaiting the presence of the council to take charge of the closure so that repairs can take place.”
