A vehicle traveled an unknown distance on the wrong side of State Highway 2, before being stopped by police at Maoribank, Upper Hutt.

According to a police spokesperson, their journey started in Johnsonville, north of Wellington, but they traveled on the correct side of the road for part of the trip before making a false move, taking them north on the side. south of the highway.

A number of people reported the incident to the police and the driver was stopped just after 8 a.m. by a police officer in Maoribank Grove.

No injuries or accidents were reported.

In November, a Metlink bus, which was not in service and had no passengers, headed south in the northbound lanes of Wellington’s Centennial Highway near Tawa.

It was filmed by people in the surrounding cars. No one was injured, but the driver received medical attention.

In January, a driver traveled the wrong way on Wellington’s expressway for about 10 kilometers before colliding with an oncoming car.

The car entered the freeway and headed south after turning right from Cornish St in Petone, Lower Hutt.

The accident killed the two occupants of the car traveling in the wrong direction and left two seriously injured.
