Over the past 48 hours, Liverpool supporters have been on an emotional roller coaster.
The club’s pursuit of Darwin Nunez seemed to be going very well until rumors swirled that Manchester United were ready to blow up Liverpool’s bid.
Fortunately, the Red Devils pulled out of the race after Nunez made it clear he only wanted Liverpool.
With the transfer seemingly complete, Reds around the world were eagerly waiting to see the Uruguayan play for his country against Panama on Saturday.
Now, however, it looks like the striker won’t take part in the international friendly.
To the delight of the Liverpool medical team, it’s not because of injury but rather to complete his transfer.
According Diego JokasNunez will miss the game as he travels to Liverpool “in the next few hours”.

The Uruguayan journalist has revealed that Nunez will sign for the club from Anfield for €80m + €20m in bonuses.
Jurgen Klopp doesn’t spend money very often, but when he does it’s usually a success.
The transfers of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker have both been deemed ‘overpriced’ by rival fans who are now eating their words away.
One look at Nunez’s stats and you’ll see why Klopp was ready to break the bank.
Position: Center forward
Appearances this season: 41
Goals this season: 34
Assists this season: 4
Contract expiry: June 30, 2025

Nunez’s 38 goals would immediately replace Sadio Mane’s 28.
With the transfer progressing rapidly, the deal could be announced in the coming days.
