An accident in Odisha between a bicycle and a speeding van has killed a father, his two daughters and his grandson.

A man, his two daughters and his minor grandson were killed after their bike was hit by a speeding van on Tuesday. The incident happened in Ganjam district of Odisha.
The deceased has been identified as Jayaram Nayak, his two daughters Rinki Nayak and Laxmi Patra and his grandson Biswajit Patra. They were all inhabitants of the village of Munigadi.
The accident happened as Jayaram was returning to the village after work. According to reports, the speeding van hit the motorbike from behind and crushed the victims. Jayaram died at the scene while his daughters and grandson were rescued and taken to the nearest subdivision hospital. There, doctors pronounced the girls dead on arrival.

The grandson was transferred to Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College in critical condition. After giving him emergency treatment for a few hours, doctors pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van reportedly fled the scene after hitting the bike.
Following the accident, tension erupted in the area and residents protested by burning tires and blocking the highway. Residents are demanding compensation for the victim’s family.
