If you’re traveling to any of these states, here’s what you need to know

Amid concerns over the Omicron variant, the Center has issued guidance for States and UTs to effectively monitor and undertake surveillance of international passengers while extending national Covid-19 containment measures until December 31st. Some states have also ordered new preventive measures to combat the threat. of the new variant

What aviators need to know

* Travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal; download -ve RT-PCR report (carried out 72 hours before travel), and a declaration of authenticity of the report, and download the Arogya setu application

At the arrival

* Thermal screening and copy of the self-declaration

* Children under 5 exempt from tests before and after arrival. If symptomatic, test and treatment according to SOP

What are states doing


* 7-day institutional quarantine for travelers arriving in the State from “at risk” countries; RT-PCR test on the second, fourth and seventh days of arrival for these passengers; if the last test is negative, the passenger will then have to undergo a seven-day home quarantine

* Passengers from other countries will need to undergo a mandatory RT-PCR test on arrival and then undergo a 14-day home quarantine, even if the test result is negative. Passengers who test positive will be transferred to a hospital.

* The BMC circular states that all domestic passengers landing at the city’s airport must carry a negative RT-PCR report that is less than 72 hours old.
