Grants under Agri-Food Tourism Initiatives available for applicants from Donegal

Total funding of nearly €300,000 is available for projects supporting agri-food tourism initiatives (which may also include rural food markets) under the 2022 Rural Development and Innovation Fund.

The maximum amount payable to any project is €25,000.

Agriculture, Food and Marine Minister Charlie McConalogue TD said, “The funding provided through this initiative aligns with many of the goals of my department’s ambitious strategy for agri-food sector “Food Vision 2030”.

“One of the key actions of this strategy is to continue to develop links between local food and tourism offerings, including supporting business development and marketing initiatives to support and promote food and beverage tourism attractions. , including the distillery, brewery and tourism sector.”

He continued: “The Irish agri-food sector is embedded in the fabric of Irish society and is a key driver of our economy, particularly in rural and coastal areas. My department is delighted to be able to continue to support the development of agri-food tourism initiatives that will help rural businesses develop their products and services, connect with the community and visitors, and enhance the rural experience. .
