Copping travels to Denmark for health summit

Alberta’s Minister of Health will travel to Denmark and the United Kingdom for a series of meetings with healthcare leaders and innovators.

Minister Jason Copping will be in Copenhagen for the Denmark Health Tour Forum 2022, June 28-July 1, at the invitation of the Danish Ambassador to Canada. He will then take part in a study and information exchange tour on health innovation in London, from 4 to 7 July.

According to the province, the purpose of the trip is to gather information to improve public health care across Alberta, “particularly in primary care services, home care and continuing care, and the delivery of EMS. “.

“Our goal is to create a better health care system for Albertans,” Copping said in a statement. “A patient-centered, integrated and sustainable approach.

“Meeting with experts from some of the best health systems in the world will allow us to learn from their best practices and innovations, and inform better approaches and outcomes for health care in Alberta,” added the minister.

Copping is also set to host a roundtable with other healthcare leaders on “accelerating digital solutions in healthcare” in Denmark. Two employees will accompany him during the trip.

Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and the Northwest Territories are also sending delegations to represent Canada at the summit in Denmark.

Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Norway, Sweden, the United States and the United Kingdom will also participate in the forum.
